Get the most out of Bots, even from zero
No coding needed. After this page you'll know how to find, use and ask.
What is a Bot?
A Bot is an assistant with a role and a way of working already set up. You don't have to explain everything each time: pick a suitable Bot and just say what you need.
Step 1: Install Grok Bot first
Bots on this site are used inside the Grok Bot app. If it isn't installed, tapping "Add Bot" will first ask you to download it.
Computer (start here)
Supports macOS, Windows and Linux. Download it from x.ai/bot, open it, choose "Sign in" and finish signing in in your browser.
iPhone
Requires iOS 18 or later. Install from the App Store.
Android
Requires Android 9 or later. Install from Google Play.
Once it's installed, check three things
Signed in to Grok Bot
Install and sign in as described above. Your account needs an active subscription.
Know where the Bot comes from
Every Bot is created by a third party. Read its description before adding to see what it will do.
Decide what to do
No need to think it through. One sentence is enough, such as "help me organize these articles".
Use a Bot in four steps
On the home page search box, write what you want to do in everyday language.
Read the description, example prompts and source, and pick the closest one.
This opens the Add page in Grok Bot. Tap add once more.
Copy an example prompt and swap in your own content. If the result isn't good, keep asking follow-ups.
How to ask for accurate results
Say clearly who you are, what you want, the background, and the format you want.
It doesn't say which industry or which companies, so the Bot can only guess.
It has your role, goal, scope and format.
FAQ
Try different wording, or look under "Browse by scenario". If what you need isn't there yet, tell us and we'll consider adding it.
First check that Grok Bot is installed and you're signed in, and that it's available in your region. If it isn't installed on your computer, download it from x.ai/bot.
Add background, scope and the format you want, such as "as a table" or "under 300 words", then ask again.
You can ask in your own language. We try to provide summaries and examples in your language; anything not translated stays in the original.
Free Bots are compiled from public sources and community sharing. Pro Bots are submitted by developers and go through human review and trial.
Conversations happen inside Grok Bot. Searchskill.ai only helps you find Bots. [To add: what data we collect]
